To make the hotel an active part of their stay, even when they were out and about in London, we created a miniature set of books that encapsulated the Berkeley’s off-beat way of appreciating the capital. It needed to be small enough to accompany them on their trips and portable enough to take home and show to friends. These tiny slip-cased books, which measured just 80mm x 105mm, revealed London through the pen of an illustrator, the eyes of a schoolboy who photographs its famous sights from strange angles and through Cockney rhyming slang. Written or illustrated by young Londoners, these books promoted the hotels support of young talent and as part of an on-going series, have already become collectable items in their own right.
