To turn a quirky bar which is defined by the signature cartoons that line its walls, into a go-to venue, we looked at ways of building the social side – of games and gaming and opportunities to break ice. The Scarfe’s poker pack which features Prince George as the Knave of Hearts and Vladimir Putin as the Three of Spades has become invaluable in achieving this. Developed as one of a sequence of touchpoints including cartoon coasters, card-dealing barmen and magic and cabaret acts, it has proved highly successful.
