GOLDEN RATIO

The Eterna cocktail menu for The Dorchester’s Vesper Bar  was inspired by the Golden Ratio – a mathematical principle commonly seen in nature, art, and architecture.

We took seven flavour profiles, from herbaceous to savoury and matched them to images that demonstrate how the Golden ratio in the form of a spiral can be seen in art and nature – be it in the work of Botticelli, seed heads, cloud formations or shells. There are three cocktails per flavour profile and like the spiral itself, the menu moves outward (like the closely associated Fibonacci number sequence) from simple to more complex flavours with an increasing number of ingredients.
